The Jail Ministry
We are commanded by God to go...
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:” (Matthew 28:19-20)
This command does not exclude the local jail. Matthew 25:36 reveals Christ saying, “I was in prison, and ye came unto me… Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” God has given our local church a tremendous opportunity to bring the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to these men and women. We go forth with the Gospel in simple obedience to Christ’s command and because of His love that constraineth us.
Jesus said in Luke 5:31, “They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.” In jail no man sees himself as whole. This presents a mission field full of good soil prepared for sowing the seed. "The seed is the word of God." (Luke 8:11) Pray with us as we bring the Word of God to these men and women, that God would save the lost and encourage those that are saved to draw nigh unto Him.
Psalms 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
